Designed, Agreed and maintained Savings Reporting Methodology that tracked improvement vs previous year, in-year savings, vs budget performance and net inflation results. Could track year-on-year trends including commodity inflation, category project savings, inflation avoidance by BU and Spend area

Embedded leading edge processes and best practices including Strategic Category Management, eTenders/eAuctions, company-wide SAP deployments, Business Objects spend analysis toolkit, knowledge-sharing portals, Monthly KPI reporting, internal and external savings Benchmarking, Market Intelligence, Supplier Relationship Management, vendor performance scorecards and improvement plans / targets. Defined and installed capability assessment and training programmes for global company functions in multiple business units and comprising up to 200 people

Wrote, agreed and introduced the company-wide Procurement Policy spanning across three major business units with separate purchasing teams. And in DIAGEO prepared and launched their first Responsible Sourcing Plan with policies, procedures and targets to minimise supply or reputational risk and so protect future business sustainability

Promoted and shared Energy Conservation and alternative energy initiatives globally as part of the category plan for energy procurement in reducing usage and gaining greener supply credentials. Introduced risk management approaches including commodity hedging with dynamic fix/unfix strategies.

Prepared plans and business case for the IT investment in a comprehensive Sourcing, Contract Management, Catalogue Procurement, Automated Invoicing, Supplier Qualification and Supplier Performance Management system for 9,000 suppliers and 1,500 users worldwide. Ran the process for reviewing market offerings, Selecting the preferred provider with cross-functional agreement, negotiating the contract for software and integration supportfollowed by the implementation project.  

Designed and installed talent development programmes including access to functional thought leadership, skills training, collaborative learning workshops, individual development planning, graduate programmes, internships and masters dissertation projects. This included the DIAGEO Procurement Leadership Development Programme that won the 2002 CIPS Procurement Excellence award
